Business Development Manager

Your work will often reach across all areas of the business and you will have the chance to work alongside some of the best insight, strategy, and creative experts across the industry. You’ll be working collaboratively with these expert consultants to win exciting new projects and be at the forefront of the latest innovations in the consulting space.
You will be responsible for prospecting new leads, setting and leading new business meetings, leading proposals and pitches, negotiating and closing sales and onboarding new clients. You will have an annual commercial target to work towards. As you progress, you will also have the opportunity to get involved in management/ mentoring.
You will also work closely with the marketing team and others in the business to develop ideas for content and initiatives.
Some skills and experience
− Self-motivated and ambitious desire to exceed sales targets.
− Experience in researching and identifying new business opportunities - including new industries, growth areas, clients, new services - or new ways of reaching existing markets and individuals.
− Able to think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve ways of working.
− Experience with generating leads and cold calling prospective clients.
− Experience with uncovering the needs of clients and ability to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
− Must have proven success in closing sales and managing sales pipelines.
− Must be confident in writing proposals, leading pitches and negotiating sales.
− Previous cold calling / phone experience is preferable.
− Previous experience in data/ insights/ consultancy is preferred
− A self-starter with strong multi-tasking skills and desire to continue to learn.
− Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
− Great at working independently to meet targets but also a team player, understanding how to draw upon the strengths of different members of your team to help meet project objectives.
− Have an appetite for understanding the needs of businesses across a range of sectors and keeping abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
− Experience with overcoming challenging situations and ability to defuse critical client situations and take ownership as needed.
